ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to deploy Pakistan Army and Rangers for security during the ICC Champions Trophy starting in Pakistan on February 19.
According to sources, foolproof security arrangements are being finalized for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and in this regard the government has decided to deploy the Army and Rangers for security.
The approval for the deployment of the Pakistan Army and Rangers has been obtained from the federal cabinet. Sources in the Cabinet Division said that the deployment of the Pakistan Army in the Champions Trophy will be done under Article 245 of the Constitution and the Rangers will be deployed for security under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on February 19 and will continue till March 9.
