“Arzoo has been recovered” Murtaza Wahab

KARACHI: A 13 year old Christian girl, Arzoo who was purpotedly forcibly converted to Islam, has been recovered, Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab has announced on Monday in his tweet.

Provincial Minister said in the tweet “Happy to inform everyone that Aarzoo has been recovered.”

The girl’s parents had reported that Arzoo had been allegedly “abducted” and “forcibly married” to an aged Muslim man.

Sindh High Court’s Justice Amjad Sahito had ordered the relevant authorities to recover the girl earlier in the day, while the court stated that under-age marriages is against the law.

Similarly, human rights minister Shireen Mazari had said that the SHC had ordered the relevant agencies to recover Arzoo and shifted her to a shelter home. Arzoo’s alleged “abduction” insighted outrage by human rights organizations.
