MANAMA: President Asif Ali Zardari was awarded the highest state honor of Bahrain during his official visit to the Kingdom.
Upon his arrival at Qasr Al-Qudaih, President Zardari received a guard of honor and held a one-on-one meeting with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, defense, and security.
President Zardari invited Bahraini investors to participate in projects across agriculture, IT, healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure in Pakistan.
The award, the Order of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa (First Class), recognizes President Zardari’s significant contributions to deepening ties between the two brotherly nations. The meeting also highlighted the role of the Pakistani community in Bahrain, over 116,000 people, as a bridge in bilateral relations.
King Hamad called President Zardari’s visit a milestone in Pakistan-Bahrain relations and praised the contributions of the Pakistani community in the Kingdom.
The event concluded with a state luncheon in honor of the President and his delegation.
