QUETTA: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced Rs10 billion in financial assistance for the Frontier Corps (FC), stating that Balochistan is not alone and the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the province.
Speaking during her visit to the FC Headquarters in Quetta, Maryam Nawaz said that peace, law and order, and stability in Balochistan are top priorities for the whole country. She paid tribute to FC personnel, acknowledging their sacrifices in defending the nation despite challenging circumstances.
“The young men of the Frontier Corps are making immense sacrifices for the defense of the homeland. We salute those fighting on the front lines,” she said.
The Punjab chief minister emphasized the need for national unity, stating that if the nation stands united like a solid wall, no enemy can harm Pakistan. She said the time has come to clearly distinguish between right and wrong, adding that there should be no “grey area” in the minds of political leadership or the public regarding those who weaken the country.
“Whoever weakens Pakistan, whether from within or outside, cannot be considered a friend of the country,” she asserted.
Maryam Nawaz also said that Pakistan is facing a “fifth-generation war” and must confront it with strength and unity. She stressed that defeating extremism is essential and that there should be no ambiguity when it comes to dealing with terrorists.
“Taking up arms against the state makes one an enemy. There is no need to divide the nation or resort to violence for dialogue,” she added.
Reaffirming her commitment, she said that ensuring peace and stability in Balochistan remains a national priority and that all conspiracies against the country must be defeated collectively.
