Ban on PTM has created tension in KP: Gandapur

Says Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expected to visit Peshawar to discuss the situation.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakthunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that the decision of the federal government to ban  Pashtoon Tahafuz Movement has created tension in his province.

However, he said that he had approached the federal government and received a very positive response. He said that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was expected to visit Peshawar on Thursday to attend a meeting to discuss measures to deal with the issue.

On the other hand, the Pashtoon Tahafuz Movement is all set to hold its public court or Jirga in Khyber district on Friday.

According to media reports, law  enforcement agencies have occupied the venue of the Jirga in Khyber to stop the PTM from holding the gathering. Roads in different areas of KP have also been blocked.

In another incident, security forces reportedly opened fire on supporters of the PTM in which three persons were killed and many others injured 

Despite the government announcement to outlaw the PTM its supporters have vowed to go ahead with its Jirga at Khyber tomorrow snd there are chances of clashes with security forces.
