ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated that Pakistan will not accept any attempts by India to treat Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) like other Indian states or to alter its demographic composition.
Addressing a gathering in Islamabad on Kashmir Exploitation Day, Dar stressed that India is bound to implement the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.
“If India claims to be a democracy, it must give the Kashmiri people the right to decide their own future,” he said, adding that there is complete political consensus in Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.

The foreign minister accused the current Indian government of further consolidating its control over the occupied territory. Citing Indian media reports, he said the Modi administration may move towards declaring the region a union territory.
“We will not accept any move to make IIOJK like other Indian states or change its population ratio,” he asserted, emphasizing that the Indian Supreme Court has no jurisdiction to decide on any international dispute.
Dar also said Pakistan is ready for an international investigation into the Pahalgam incident, calling it an Indian “fraud.” He claimed India lied about the incident, but “their bad luck” exposed the truth.
Criticizing political protests in Pakistan on Kashmir Exploitation Day, Dar questioned what message such demonstrations sent to India.
“There are 365 days in the year; a protest call could have been given on any other day,” he remarked.
