HYDERABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned the federal government that if the controversial new canals project is not stopped immediately, the PPP will no longer support the government.
Speaking at a rally, Bilawal said that the issue of water distribution is serious and could harm the federation. He stated that the government is acting against farmers, and that PML-N’s projects are anti-farmer.
He emphasized that the people of Sindh have rejected this project and suggested that if the government wants to develop Tharparkar or Cholistan, it should use modern technology, but there will be no compromise on the Indus River.
Bilawal congratulated party workers on PPP’s victory in the Umerkot by-election and announced that a major rally and protest will be held in Sukkur on April 25.
