ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott held talks with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), in Islamabad on Saturday.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing key political and security concerns in Pakistan and the wider region.
During the discussions, both leaders delved into matters of mutual interest, including regional security dynamics and the ongoing relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan. They also explored ways to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the UK, with particular emphasis on increasing investment and economic collaboration.
A central theme of the conversation was the potential for boosting Pakistan’s economy through foreign investment, which both parties agreed could lead to an improvement in the living standards of Pakistan’s citizens.
