LONDON: A British court has praised the bravery of Pakistani youth Abdullah Tanoli, awarding him a cash prize for saving the life of an 11-year-old girl.

The incident took place last August when Tanoli, who was working as a security guard at a store in Leicester Square, intervened to protect the girl from an armed attacker wielding a knife.

According to British media, the court acknowledged Tanoli’s courage and swift actions during the hearing, ordering a £1,000 reward from public funds in recognition of his heroism. The judge also directed that the attacker, Poon Pintaro, be transferred to a high-security mental health facility.

Upon hearing the girl’s screams, Abdullah Tanoli immediately intervened and, with the help of other security guards, restrained the attacker until the police arrived. His quick thinking and bravery prevented further harm to the young girl.

Since the incident, Tanoli has been hailed as a hero in the UK, receiving numerous accolades for his remarkable actions.
