ISLAMABAD: A case has been registered against PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan on the charge of inciting government officers against state institutions.
The case was registered by the Federal Investigation Agency over a social media post from the account of the former prime minister. The FIA claimed that the threatening post was aimed at inciting the public against the state and its institutions.
It has been learnt that the case was registered by the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency on Sept 13. The contents of the post and its date was not revealed by the FIA.
After registering the case, a team from the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency reached Adiala jail to question the former prime minister. However, he refused to appear before the team and record his statement. Imran Khan said he would not join any investigation without his lawyer.
Earlier, a video clip had been shared from the X account of Imran Khan that related to the Fall of Dhakka. The government had announced that those behind spreading hatred against state institutions by using the social media would be brought to justice.
