ISLAMABAD: In a strong gesture of solidarity, the Government of China has announced an additional 100 million yuan (approximately USD 13.7 million) in relief assistance to support Pakistan’s ongoing efforts in flood recovery and reconstruction.
The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed the new aid package, emphasizing Beijing’s continued support for its long-standing partner in times of crisis.
This latest commitment builds on the $2 million in emergency assistance previously provided by China in the immediate aftermath of the devastating floods that impacted large parts of Pakistan.
According to the embassy, the new relief package will include critical supplies aimed at helping flood-affected communities recover and rebuild. These essential items are expected to support ongoing humanitarian efforts and bolster the government’s reconstruction and rehabilitation work.
“This assistance reflects the deep-rooted friendship and the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan,” the statement said, highlighting the strength of bilateral ties between the two countries.
China’s timely support has been widely appreciated in Pakistan and is seen as a meaningful contribution to easing the hardships of those affected, while reinforcing the spirit of cooperation between the two nations.
