PESHAWAR: A cleric and his young son were killed in an assassination attempt while his other son was injured in the Pishin Khura area of Peshawar.
According to police, Maulana Izzatullah, who had just finished leading prayers at a mosque in Safa Dheri, was traveling home in a car with his two sons when gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on them at Board Bazaar.
As a result, Maulana Izzatullah and his son Ali lost their lives, while his other son, Murtaza, was injured. Both the deceased and the injured were taken to hospital, where the injured son is receiving medical care.
SP Cantt Ihtiraz Khan along with his team reached the scene and collected evidence. CCTV footage from nearby areas has been obtained and a case registered against unidentified suspects.
