COAS Never Sought Apology Over May 9 Incidents: ISPR Chief

ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that the Army Chief did not seek any apology over the May 9 incidents during his visit to Brussels.

He emphasized that the May 9 incidents were not solely an army issue, but a national matter, and that those responsible, along with their facilitators and planners, must be held accountable under the law.

Speaking to the media after a ceremony in the federal capital, DG ISPR clarified that the army chief did not make any political statements in Brussels, nor did he mention an apology.

Hundreds of people attended the event and took photos with the field marshal during his visit to Brussels, but no discussion was held about PTI or any other matter related to the May 9 cases.

It may be mentioned here that the Supreme Court of Pakistan earlier today granted bail to jailed former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan in eight May 9 cases.
