Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), reiterated the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to national security and socio-economic development.
He stated this during an interaction with participants of the 16th National Workshop on Balochistan held in Rawalpindi, said ISPR in a statement on Wednesday.
The workshop brought together a diverse group of participants including parliamentarians, civil servants, civil society representatives, academicians, media personnel, and youth from Balochistan.
Addressing the gathering, the COAS reaffirmed the Army’s dedication to uprooting terrorism and highlighted the critical importance of Balochistan’s socio-economic progress for achieving national cohesion and integration.
Condemning what he described as India’s blatant sponsorship of terror proxies, Field Marshal Munir accused New Delhi of attempting to destabilize Pakistan by exploiting elements such as Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan.
He stated that India, having faced defeat in Ma’arka-e-Haq, had now shifted to hybrid warfare tactics, using proxy groups to advance its “nefarious designs.” These efforts, he assured, would meet the same fate of failure and humiliation.
The COAS emphasized that terrorism transcends religious, sectarian, and ethnic boundaries, and must be countered through a united national front. He called for collective resolve and coordinated action, noting the need for enhanced inter-agency cooperation to ensure stability and development in Balochistan.
Highlighting the strategic importance of development projects in Balochistan, he urged for a cohesive national approach to fast-track provincial growth as part of broader efforts to strengthen national integrity.
While reaffirming Pakistan’s desire for regional peace, Field Marshal Munir asserted that the country remains fully prepared to respond decisively to any internal or external threats, safeguarding its sovereignty and the welfare of its people.
