ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Senator Kamran Murtaza has submitted a calling attention notice in the Senate, expressing concern over the continuous decline in Pakistan’s passport ranking worldwide.
According to details, Pakistan’s passport, which was ranked 79th globally in 2006, has fallen to 101st position in 2026. The notice highlighted economic challenges, security concerns, and illegal migration as major factors contributing to the decline.
Senator Kamran Murtaza urged the government to take effective measures to improve the international reputation of the Pakistani passport. He also demanded an immediate parliamentary debate on the issue, calling it a matter of national dignity and public interest.
The senator stressed that the declining global standing of Pakistan’s passport requires urgent attention and called for the matter to be brought before the Senate for discussion without delay.
