TEHRAN: Due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, several Pakistani nationals had been stranded in Iran.

However, efforts by the Pakistani embassy have enabled a group of Pakistani students to begin their journey back home.

According to diplomatic sources, six buses carrying Pakistani students have departed from Tehran towards the Taftan border crossing. The border is expected to remain open after 4pm today to facilitate their arrival.

On Sunday, 180 Pakistanis successfully crossed the Taftan border, including 168 pilgrims and 12 traders.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu currently in Pakistan for official meetings assured that the Embassy in Tehran, along with Consulates in Mashhad and Zahedan, are fully active and providing all possible assistance to Pakistani citizens. He also shared contact numbers and email addresses for support units via social media.

It is important to note that both crossing points in Panjgur, which connect Iran and Pakistan, have been closed indefinitely. Air travel between the two countries is also suspended due to rising tensions and Israeli airstrikes.

The Ministry of Interior has advised Pakistani citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran until the situation stabilizes.
