QUETTA: Authorities in Balochistan have decided to launch a major crackdown on non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles amid reports that such vehicles have been used in recent acts of terrorism.

According to official sources, a coordinated operation is being planned with the involvement of the Excise and Taxation Department, Police, Customs, and Frontier Corps (FC). All relevant enforcement units across the province have been instructed to participate in the campaign.

In an initial action, Customs officials conducted a raid on a warehouse in Mastung and seized 11 NCP vehicles worth approximately Rs 81 million.

Officials from the Excise and Taxation Department stated that they have already profiled more than 40,000 NCP vehicles across the province, and teams are now conducting daily operations to curb their movement and use.
