RIYADH: Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman on Wednesday made it clear that his country would not normalize relations with Israel until the resolution of the Palestinian issue.
The crown prince said that the establishment of a separate and independent Palestinian state first priority of Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi media, the crown prince chaired a meeting of the Majlise Shura of the country and spoke on the country’s foreign policy, specially related to Israel.
Speaking on the occasion, he condemned Israel atrocities on the people of Palestine, adding Israel has violated international laws and killed over 41000 innocent Palestinian people since the Gaza war started in October 2023.
The crown prince said that his country was thankful to all those nations who have recognized the state of Palestine. He also said that Saudi Arabia had been making efforts to pave the way for the establishment of the separate Palestinian state.
It may be mentioned here that there have been media reports that Saudi Arabia was in talks with the United States and other countries on a larger deal under which Riyadh would recognize Israel.
Recent US media reports claimed that Saudi Arabia had agreed to normalize relations with Israel after the latter would agree on a ceasefire in Gaza.
