ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is making significant progress in addressing illegal migration and human trafficking by tackling fake job advertisements and cyber fraud.

In this regard, a two-day “Validation Workshop” was held in Islamabad, in partnership with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), to finalize a National Awareness Framework. This initiative is part of the broader Fake Job Advertisements and Cyber Activities for Preventing Illegal Migration and Human Trafficking (FJA-PAK) project.

The project, funded by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration, aims to raise awareness among Pakistanis seeking employment abroad and protect them from the dangers of fraudulent job offers and online scams.

The workshop focused on finalizing the framework for national awareness and included practical sessions, experience-sharing, and brainstorming on how to strengthen awareness-raising measures. Participants also proposed strategies for a nationwide campaign to tackle these issues effectively.

During the workshop, a National Action Plan for Awareness was agreed upon by all stakeholders.

Representatives from various institutions, including the Ministry of Interior, FIA, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Islamabad Police, PEMRA, Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) were present at the event.
