Dar holds talks with Bangladeshi & Egyptian FMs to boost ties

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held bilateral meetings with senior officials from Bangladesh and Egypt on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Two-State Solution at the United Nations.

During his meeting with Md. Touhid Hossain, Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and cultural sectors. They emphasized the importance of boosting regional connectivity and enhancing people-to-people contacts.

This marked their fourth meeting since October 2024, reflecting growing momentum in bilateral engagement. The two officials also voiced serious concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people.

In a separate meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Senator Dar highlighted the historic and friendly ties between Pakistan and Egypt. The two ministers discussed expanding collaboration in health, minerals, defense, trade, and investment. They underscored the need to strengthen economic integration and agreed to pursue high-level exchanges in the near future. Egypt also congratulated Pakistan on assuming the presidency of the UN Security Council this month.

Both meetings highlighted a shared commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause. The three countries called for an immediate ceasefire, full humanitarian access, and a just resolution to the conflict based on the two-state solution. They expressed hope that the international conference would produce meaningful outcomes.
