BRUSSELES: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for an immediate cessation of atrocities in Gaza and the occupation of Palestinian territories, emphasizing the urgent need for peace in the region.
Delivering a speech at the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in Brussels, Dar highlighted that certain actors are attempting to destabilize the region, posing a threat to both regional and global security.
He stressed that mutual cooperation is crucial for addressing international challenges, warning that division and the pursuit of power can have dangerous consequences for the region and the world at large.
He further noted the transformative impact of artificial intelligence, stating that it is reshaping the global landscape, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to upholding United Nations principles.
In his address, Dar also emphasized that the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue should reflect the aspirations and rights of the Kashmiri people, highlighting Pakistan’s continued support for their cause.
During his visit to Brussels, Dar held a bilateral meeting with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors, including defense, politics, economy, trade, investment, and education.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening ties to address common challenges and promote regional stability.
