Dar Holds Talks with Saudi, Iranian Counterparts on Gaza Crisis

Foreign ministers expressed deep concern over humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and strongly condemned Israeli aggression.

JEDDAH: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held meetings with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran on the sidelines of the 21st extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah.

The discussions focused on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Israeli aggression, the urgent need for humanitarian aid, and the strengthening of bilateral relations.

In his meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Ishaq Dar strongly emphasized the dire situation in Gaza, highlighting the ongoing genocide, famine and the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire.

The two sides discussed the importance of unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, joint efforts for post-conflict reconstruction, and the establishment of lasting peace in the region. They also reviewed all aspects of bilateral ties and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

“I am very pleased to meet my brother Prince Faisal bin Farhan,” said Ishaq Dar, reaffirming the resolve to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

During his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Dar expressed deep concern over the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and strongly condemned Israeli aggression, the ongoing genocide, and the worsening famine in the besieged enclave.

These high-level engagements come at a critical time as Muslim nations intensify diplomatic efforts to address the crisis in Gaza and coordinate humanitarian assistance through the platform of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
