KARACHI: An American woman, who arrived in Karachi to marry a Pakistani youth weeks ago, has created a scene at Jinnah International Airport and refused to go back after being ditched by her lover.
The American woman kept on refusing to board an airline at the Karachi airport saying she would rather die than go back without marrying her dream man. The heartbroken woman was supposed to fly to New York via Doha on flight QR 611 on Tuesday, but didn’t leave the airport.
The American woman first refused to go through the immigration process and then did not board the plane and continued sitting in the departure lounge.
The police and airport security earlier escorted the American woman to the departure lounge, but she refused to board the plane and the flight was delayed for 36 minutes waiting for her
Sources said that due to the security SOPs, the passenger cannot be forced to board the flight.
Onija Andrew Robbins fell in love with 19-year-old Nidal Memon, a resident of Garden area of Karachi, and the mother of two children in love on social media arrived in Karachi on October 11. The 19-year-old man was willing to marry the American woman, but the family refused to allow him to tie the knot.
The ASF handed the American woman to the airport police after the expiry of the visit visa. An NGO gave the woman a ticket to return to the United States and also provided financial assistance. Meanwhile, the American fell sick the due to cold weather and was taken to the emergency clinic of the airport.
