Eight terrorists killed, five arrested in N. Waziristan and Bannu

These terrorists were involved in terrorist activities against security forces, says ISPR.

RAWALPINDI: Security forces eliminated at least eight terrorists and arrested five of their facilitators in separate operations conducted in Bannu and North Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

In recent months, terror activities have increased especially in KP province. On September 6, hundreds of terrorists infiltrated into the Chitral territory from Afghanistan and killed five personnel of Chitral Scouts in Astoi and Jinjiret border areas. 

Later, Pakistani security forces conducted an operation, killed over 12 infiltrators and pushed back teh rest into the Afghan territory.

According to the military’s media wing, ISPR, in an operation in Jani Khel area of Bannu on Thursday, security forces and terrorists exchanged intense firing. Resultantly, six terrorists were sent to hell while five were apprehended.

“These terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, including facilitation of motorcycle borne suicide attack on a military convoy at Jani Khel on 31st of the last month, in which nine brave sons of soil laid their lives.”

In another operation in Datta Khel, North Waziristan, two terrorists were sent to hell in a fierce encounter between security forces and terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
