Envoy Advises Pakistanis in Iran to Limit Movement

Says Pakistanis planning to return by road should reaching border at least four hours before scheduled time of closure.

TEHRAN: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu has urged Pakistani nationals living in Iran to strictly follow the advisory issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and avoid unnecessary movement in light of the prevailing situation.

In an interview with a Pakistani news outlet, Ambassador Tipu advised citizens to remain vigilant and stay in constant contact with the embassy. He said internet (Wi-Fi) services are currently down in Iran, while telephone services have also been affected. However, he confirmed that phone lines at the Pakistani embassy in Tehran and at its consulates in other Iranian cities remain operational.

The ambassador said Pakistani nationals can contact the embassy and consulates through these phone lines in case of emergencies. He added that the embassy was actively monitoring the situation and remains in close coordination with relevant Iranian authorities.

For Pakistani citizens planning to return to Pakistan by road, Ambassador Tipu advised reaching the border at least four hours before the scheduled time of closure. He also emphasised the importance of ensuring that immigration exit stamps are affixed on passports to avoid any legal complications in the future.

Addressing Pakistani students studying in Iran, the ambassador advised those wishing to return to Pakistan to complete the prescribed procedures and obtain clearance certificates from their respective universities before departure.

He said the embassy was in contact with Iranian border authorities to facilitate Pakistani citizens and students. He confirmed that 72 Pakistani students from Hormozgan University had already departed for Pakistan, while the repatriation process of students from Zanjan University was currently underway.
