RAWALPINDI: Former ISI chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has been found guilty on all charges and sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a Field General Court Martial under the Pakistan Army Act.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the proceedings against Hameed commenced on August 12, 2024, and continued for approximately 15 months, involving a detailed examination of all allegations.
Hameed faced charges that included involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of powers and government resources, and causing unjust harm to others. After a comprehensive and prolonged legal process, the court convicted him on all counts, emphasizing that the trial was conducted in strict adherence to legal protocols.
The court ensured that Hameed was provided with full legal rights, including representation by his chosen lawyers and the opportunity to appeal the verdict through the appropriate legal forums.
Furthermore, the court highlighted that other aspects of Hameed’s political involvement, including his role in activities that contributed to instability in the country, will be addressed separately.
