KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration has detained three women returning from Saudi Arabia on suspicion of involvement in prostitution.
According to FIA officials, during interrogation, the women revealed that they were sent to Mecca and Medina through agents, where they allegedly became involved in prostitution. The officials said the detailed questioning was initiated after the women exhibited suspicious behavior during routine immigration clearance.
Rabia Zainab stated that a Lahore-based agent, Shaheen, had lured her to Saudi Arabia with promises of a job in a beauty parlor and a monthly salary of Rs 150,000. However, upon arrival there, she allegedly became involved in prostitution. She was later deported to Pakistan after being apprehended in a Saudi police raid and serving her sentence.
Similarly, Sonia and Sadra Bibi said that an agent named Rashid arranged their travel to Saudi Arabia with a promise of a monthly salary of Rs 120,000. However, they too allegedly became involved in prostitution and were deported to Pakistan after being caught in a Saudi police raid and completing their sentences.
The FIA Immigration has handed over all three women to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further investigation and legal action against the agents involved.
