KARACHI: A fire that erupted in a mattress shop on the ground floor of a seven-storey building at Ayesha Manzil in FB Area of Karachi has spread to the top floor.
Officials said that the flames have engulfed the whole building and residents of flats in the upper portions of the building have been evacuated.
The fire first broke out in a mattress shop in a furniture shop on the ground floor of Nashiman Market and spread to whole building.
Rescue and fire brigade staffers were trying to extinguish the flames.
A woman who identified herself as Almas Talha said that watchmen of the building helped her and other residents evacuate from the premises.
She said she could only pick up important documents from the house. She prayed that her house may remained safe from the inferno.
