LAHORE: The first group of South African Test cricketers has arrived in Lahore for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan.
The second group of players is expected to arrive in Lahore a few hours later.
Upon their arrival at Allama Iqbal International Airport, the squad was escorted to the hotel under tight security arrangements.
Pakistan and South Africa will play a two-match Test series. The first Test is scheduled to take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from October 12 to 16, while the second Test will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24.
South Africa is the winner of the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan has reduced the size of its Test squad for the series against South Africa.
According to sources, fast bowler Aamir Jamal and spinner Faisal Akram have been released from the squad. The number of players in the national team’s squad has been reduced from 18 to 16.
