First in 15 years, murder convict executed by firing squad in US

SOUTH CAROLINA: A murder convict was executed by the firing squad in the United States of America for the first time after 15 years.

According to foreign media, a 67-year-old criminal was executed by firing squad in the US state of South Carolina.

The convict identified as Sigman had killed his friend’s parents with a baseball bat in 2001 and was executed at Broad River Correctional Institution.

The last execution by firing squad in the United States took place in Utah in 2010.

Six people have been executed in the United States this year. However, The law has been repealed in 23 states.
