TANK: Five police officials were martyred in a remote-controlled bomb blast targeting an armored police vehicle on Gomal Bazaar Road in Tank district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Monday, police said.
According to officials, the armored vehicle was on its way from Gomal Police Station to Tank city when it was struck by an explosive device detonated remotely near Gomal Bazaar. The powerful blast completely destroyed the vehicle.
Police confirmed that the martyred officials included Additional Station House Officer of Gomal Police Station, Ishaq Khan.
Security personnel reached the site soon after the incident, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
