FO Condemns Indian Minister’s Provocative Remarks About Sindh

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has condemned the recent remarks made by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh about Sindh and termed it baseless, irresponsible and reflective of a deeply troubling expansionist mindset.

In a statement released to the media, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi asserted that the Indian minister’s remarks are not only detached from reality but also demonstrate an extremely dangerous mentality rooted in the ideology of Hindutva-driven expansionism.

He stressed that such thinking is completely incompatible with international norms, established borders, and the sovereign equality of states.

The spokesperson warned that Indian leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh,  must avoid issuing provocative, inflammatory and destabilizing statements, as this kind of rhetoric seriously threatens the peace, security and stability of an already sensitive region.

Andrabi emphasized that instead of making aggressive claims, the Indian government should focus on safeguarding the rights, safety and dignity of its own minority communities, who continue to face discrimination and violence under rising extremism.

He urged India to take meaningful steps toward resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the democratically expressed aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, he stated that the country remains fully committed to addressing all outstanding issues with India through peaceful, lawful and diplomatic means, while also being determined to defend its national security, freedom, territorial integrity and sovereignty without hesitation.
