ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned and categorically rejected recent allegations made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public rally in Rajasthan, calling them “baseless, provocative, and irresponsible.”
In a sharply worded press release issued by the Foreign Office on Friday, Islamabad accused the Indian leadership of deliberately distorting facts and using inflammatory rhetoric to inflame public sentiment and divert attention from domestic challenges.
“The remarks, replete with distortions and misrepresentations, are clearly aimed at stoking regional tensions for narrow political gains,” the statement read. Pakistan said such behavior violates norms of responsible statecraft and international law, particularly the United Nations Charter.
The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to global counterterrorism efforts and rejected what it termed as India’s “factually incorrect and patently misleading” attempts to associate Pakistan with terrorism. It further accused India of using such allegations to mask “serious human rights violations” in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Pakistan urged Indian leadership to demonstrate maturity and avoid warmongering, especially during sensitive political periods. “Escalatory statements and belligerent posturing serve no purpose other than exacerbating tensions,” the statement said, emphasizing that the path to peace lies in dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law.
While reaffirming its desire for peaceful coexistence and regional stability, Pakistan warned that any aggression would be met with a “resolute and proportionate response.”
The government also called on the international community to take note of India’s “aggressive posture and hate-driven narratives,” warning that such rhetoric poses a serious threat to peace and security in South Asia.
