FO releases list of survivors of boat tragedy

Officials in Morocco preparing for repatriation of 21 Pakistanis, says statement.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs here on Sunday released a list of 21 Pakistani illegal migrants rescued in the Morocco boat tragedy a few days ago.

As many as 44 Pakistanis lost their lives in the boat collapse while trying to reach Europe from Africa a few days ago.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that its officials were monitoring the relief operations and the Pakistani mission in Rabat provided immediate assistance to the rescued Pakistanis, including food, water, medicine and clothes.

The embassy’s consular team is currently in Dakhla where authorities are providing shelters and medical facilities to the rescued Pakistanis.

According to the spokesperson, the officials were working for the repatriation of the surviving citizens.

According to the list released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 21 Pakistanis were rescued in Morocco.

The survivors include Mudassar Hussain, Waseem Khalid, Muhammad Khaliq, Abdul Ghaffar, Gul Shamir, Tanveer Ahmed, Abbas Kazmi, Ghulam Mustafa, Badar Muhouddin, Imran Iqbal, Mohammad Amir, Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik.
