ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has formally expressed its readiness to host potential negotiations between Iran and the United States, underscoring its ongoing commitment to regional peace, stability, and constructive diplomacy.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that Islamabad would be willing to facilitate dialogue if all concerned parties agree to engage. He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently advocated diplomatic engagement as the most effective means of resolving conflicts and reducing tensions across the region.
The statement comes amid growing speculation and media reports regarding possible talks involving the United States, Iran, and Israel. Despite these reports, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has categorically denied that any process on parleys with Washington is currently in progress, signaling continued uncertainty around the prospects for formal engagement.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that a 15-point agreement between Tehran and Washington could be finalized by the end of the week, although no official confirmation has been provided by relevant authorities.
Earlier reports in Israeli media suggested that high-level officials from both countries might hold a meeting in Islamabad in the near future.
In addition, a British newspaper reported that Pakistan is actively positioning itself as a key mediator in efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.
According to the report, senior Pakistani officials have been facilitating discreet backchannel contacts between Iranian authorities and U.S. representatives, including individuals close to the American leadership.
