Pakistan, Iran Foreign Ministers Discuss Avenues to Enhance Cooperation
ISLAMABAD: The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Iran held talks in Islamabad on Saturday, discussing avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas including regional stability, trade, and economic development.
During the meeting, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Iranian counterpart Seyyed Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed their countries’ shared commitment to deepening ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
Both sides emphasized the importance of regional peace and security, agreeing to work closely on addressing common challenges such as border management, counterterrorism efforts, and the promotion of people-to-people exchanges. They also discussed the potential for enhancing energy cooperation and connectivity projects to support long-term economic integration.
Foreign Ministe Araghchi is visiting Pakistan as part of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian’s high-level delegation. The visit marks a renewed push by both nations to elevate bilateral relations and expand strategic engagement in areas of mutual benefit
