QUETTA: Forest areas located between the districts of Sherani and Musakhel in Balochistan have caught fire, according to the officials of the district administration.
The fire has erupted in the border areas of the two districts and Levies and Police personnel along with others have been sent yo control the flames, said Deputy Commissioner Musakhel Zulfiqar Karar.
He said the officials were facing difficulty in reaching the mountainous area where the fire is raging as there was no road to reach there using vehicles.
The staffers are on their way to the affected area from both the districts on foot, he added.
It may be mentioned here that a fire in the forest of Musakhel last year had damaged a large swath of forest, including chalghuza trees.
The fire could not be extinguished for over a week untill help reached from Iran. In the meantime, three persons lost their lives by burning in the flames.
