SRINAGAR: Former Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has expressed support for renewed dialogue between India and Pakistan.
He welcomed recent statements from senior figures in India advocating engagement between the two countries.
According to media reports, Abdullah said that the recent comments made by leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and former Indian Army officials were encouraging, noting that dialogue remains the only viable path toward resolving long-standing issues.
He stated that it is a positive development that influential voices are now acknowledging that war is not a solution and that negotiations should remain open.
Earlier, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale had stated that India should always remain open to talks with Pakistan and should not close the doors to diplomacy. Similarly, former Indian Army Chief Manoj Naravane remarked that people on both sides of the border share similar everyday concerns that are separate from political disputes.
Abdullah welcomed these perspectives, saying that constructive engagement is essential for peace and stability in the region.
The statements have sparked renewed discussion in political and media circles about the possibility of easing tensions between the two neighboring countries.
