ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s fuel supply remains stable despite volatility in the global oil market, according to a briefing at a Petroleum Monitoring Committee meeting chaired by Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb.
The briefing stated that diesel stocks in the country are sufficient for 24 days, while petrol supplies are abundant. One crude oil shipment has already arrived in Karachi, and a second is expected within hours. Import arrangements for March and April are ongoing to ensure continued supply.
Minister Aurangzeb emphasized maintaining fuel availability without placing additional burden on the public. He instructed authorities to monitor the market and supply daily and to prevent artificial shortages. Provincial governments were also directed to act against hoarding.
The meeting confirmed that oil marketing companies are fully operational and there is no risk of fuel shortage.
Additionally, a digital dashboard will monitor fuel reserves, and the government is exploring diversified energy supply channels through enhanced international engagement.
