Gas crisis is expected to intensify by next month

ISLAMABAD: There is another piece of bad news for the people of Pakistan who are suffering from inflation and crises. The gas crisis is likely to intensify in the next few weeks due to rising demand with the onset of cold weather.

Sources said that with the increase in the severity of winter, the demand for gas is increasing significantly which is likely to reach 7 billion cubic feet per day due to the cold snap in the coming days while using LNG and other resources. Despite this, gas supply will be 4.5 billion cubic feet per day.

With gas shortfalls reaching 2.5 billion cubic feet per day, the gas crisis could worsen between December 20 and January 21, adding to the woes of most domestic consumers.

Sources told News Diplomacy that the government is making urgent efforts in view of the possible future crisis and additional LNG imports are being ensured to deal with the crisis, but it will take some time. Due to the increase in gas shortfall, public problems may increase.
