Gilgit-Baltistan Govt Helicopter Crashes Near Chilas

GILGIT: A helicopter belonging to the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) government crashed near Chilas, confirmed GB government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq.

According to the spokesperson, the helicopter went down while attempting to land due to a technical fault. Onboard were two pilots and two technical staff members.

The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan expressed deep sorrow over the incident and directed the concerned authorities to immediately reach the site.

It is worth mentioning that earlier, on August 15, a government helicopter engaged in relief operations in Mohmand district had crashed, resulting in the martyrdom of two pilots and five crew members.
