ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to hand over the operations of Islamabad International Airport to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The move was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions, chaired by Deputy PM Ishaq Dar.
Officials confirmed the deal will be finalized under a government-to-government (G2G) framework.
The step is part of Pakistan’s broader plan to attract foreign partners to improve efficiency at state-run assets and upgrade infrastructure.
Islamabad Airport, inaugurated in 2018, has struggled with operational and financial challenges, and the outsourcing aims to ensure better management and services.
