ISLAMABAD: The government has declared petroleum reserves across the country to be at satisfactory levels and announced stricter monitoring of fuel prices and supply.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, where officials reviewed the demand and supply situation of petroleum products nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Finance, daily meetings will now be held to closely monitor petroleum supply in order to prevent any potential shortages. Officials assured the public that there is currently no shortage of fuel in the country and that the energy system remains fully operational.
The ministry also stated that the government is closely observing the evolving regional situation, particularly developments around the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, expressing concern over potential impacts on global oil supply routes.
Authorities emphasized that ensuring uninterrupted energy supply remains a top priority. Decisions regarding fuel prices will be made in a transparent and phased manner, keeping market dynamics in view.
The meeting also included a detailed review of LNG and LPG supply, and relevant ministries were directed to prepare alternative strategies to address any possible disruptions. Officials further noted that fluctuations in international oil prices are being carefully monitored.
The government reassured citizens not to worry, affirming that petroleum product supplies remain stable across the country.
