ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Hajj flight operation is officially beginning tonight (Monday-Tuesday midnight) with the first Hajj flight departing from Islamabad International Airport to Madinah.
To facilitate pilgrims, seven special immigration counters have been set up at Islamabad Airport under the “Road to Makkah” project. Through this initiative, Pakistani pilgrims will complete all immigration formalities in Islamabad instead of Saudi Arabia, making their travel easier and more comfortable.
A 45-member Saudi immigration delegation has arrived in Islamabad to assist with the Hajj operations starting from April 29 at Islamabad and Karachi airports.
According to official figures, a total of 50,500 Pakistani pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia under the “Road to Makkah” facility this year. Of these, 29,000 pilgrims will depart from Islamabad Airport. Under this project, 100 flights from Islamabad and 80 flights from Karachi will be operated for Hajj.
The “Road to Makkah” project aims to speed up and simplify the departure process for pilgrims, allowing them to avoid long immigration procedures upon arrival in Saudi Arabia and focus peacefully on their sacred journey.
