Hazza & Shanxi Shengding Launch Skill Development Alliance

ISLAMABAD: The Hazza Institute of Technology (Hazza), Islamabad has entered a landmark strategic partnership with Shanxi Shengding International Ltd., China, aiming to empower Pakistan’s youth through advanced skill development initiatives.

The agreement was signed at a high-profile ceremony in Beijing, witnessed by Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal.

This collaboration marks a major step forward in strengthening vocational, technical, and professional education in Pakistan. The initiative is closely aligned with the goals of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as part of the URAAN Pakistan Program.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the transformative impact of the partnership. He highlighted that CPEC is expected to generate around 100,000 new jobs in the coming years, underscoring the urgency of preparing a skilled workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of modern industries. The Minister further noted that this collaboration reflects the shared vision of Pakistan and China to convert the energy of their youth into sustainable economic growth.

The agreement sets a comprehensive framework for cooperation in several critical areas. These include the design and implementation of training programs tailored to industry needs, the promotion of technological innovation and knowledge exchange, the establishment of student and faculty exchange initiatives to foster cross-cultural collaboration, and the creation of a long-term talent pipeline that meets the manpower requirements of Chinese employers both within China and internationally.

This strategic alliance is poised to significantly enhance Pakistan’s human capital by opening pathways for technology transfer, skill acquisition, and job creation in emerging sectors. It reflects Hazza Institute of Technology’s ongoing commitment to excellence in technical education and its vision to prepare a generation of professionals ready to contribute meaningfully to the country’s socio-economic advancement and the broader objectives of CPEC and the BRI.
