MUZAFFARABAD: The government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has decided to restore the health card facility for its citizens under a new formula.

Separate funds have been allocated for the Health Card Program, supported by the federal government. The Federal Cabinet has approved the release of funds for this health facilitation program.

To improve healthcare access in rural areas, “Clinics on Wheels” will continue providing free treatment for families registered under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

However, for the general public, the health card system will now operate under a co-payment model.

Starting January 16, 2026, the health card facility will be gradually reactivated across various panel hospitals in multiple phases.
