RAWALPINDI: The hearing of seven bail petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was adjourned without proceedings on Saturday and will now be taken up on September 9.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi could not hold the hearing as Judge Amjad Ali Shah went on short medical leave. As a result, Khan’s petitions seeking medical examination and formation of a medical board were also postponed until September 9.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Khan’s counsel, Muhammad Faisal Malik, said they had been present in court since 8 a.m. for the scheduled hearings. However, due to the judge’s unavailability, all matters were adjourned.
The PTI founder has been facing multiple cases since his removal from office in April 2022, ranging from terrorism-related charges to corruption references.
His legal team maintains that the charges are politically motivated and aimed at sidelining him from the political process.
