KARACHI: The Constitutional Bench of the Sindh High Court has summoned the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and other concerned authorities to respond on December 22 regarding complaints filed by students against Medical and Dental Colleges’ Admission Test.

The two-member bench, headed by Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry, heard the petitions filed by students challenging the allocation of seats in the MDCAT.

According to the students’ lawyer, Nawaz Dahri, the 2024 students were given the top merit positions without following any formal procedure.

These students were allocated seats alongside 2025 students, reportedly violating merit principles. More than 400 students were affected by these allocations, the lawyer argued, claiming that the students’ rights were being undermined.

The petitions include PMDC, the Federal Ministry of National Health, universities, and boards as respondents. A total of 25 students, including Bisma, have approached the Sindh High Court seeking legal redress.

The court has requested written responses from all parties involved to proceed with the case.
