ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded an unprecedented inflow of foreign remittances, with overseas Pakistanis sending $3.6 billion during the past month, marking the highest monthly figure in the country’s history.

The inflow represents a 13 percent increase compared to the same period last year and has pushed total remittances for the first half of fiscal year 2025–26 to $19.7 billion, reflecting a robust 41 percent year-on-year growth.

According to the country-wise breakdown, Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances, contributing $813 million. This was followed by the United Arab Emirates with $726 million, the United Kingdom with $560 million, and the United States with $302 million.

Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad said the record inflow of remittances demonstrates strong trust and confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the government’s economic direction.

He added that the continued engagement of overseas Pakistanis in the national economy serves as a foundation for long-term stability, sustainable growth, and a positive economic outlook for the country.
