RIYADH: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during his visit to Saudi Arabia to attend an international investment conference stated that projects worth billions of dollars would be launched in Pakistan by Saudi investors.
Shehbaz Sharif told a press conference here that under leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman we will achieve progress not only for Saudi Arabia and Pakistan but for the entire Muslim Ummah.
Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih was also present at the press conference.
The prime minister said, “We discussed very important mutually beneficial projects and I am satisfied that the memorandums of understanding signed a few weeks ago are now under implementation.”
He said that Pakistan will be providing skilled workforce to Saudi Arabia which will further contribute to the Kingdom’s development.
The Saudi Minister of Investment told the press conference that during his recent visit to Pakistan the two countries had inked 27 memorandums of understanding worth 2.2 billion dollars. He said now the number of the MoUs has increased to 34 totalling in worth 2.8 billion dollars.
Five of the MoUs are already operational and financed, and some of the agreements have resulted in exports from Pakistan. Moreover, a Saudi investor has acquired land for the building of an integrated medical complex in Pakistan, he added.
